Arthurs Pass is a road through the Southern Alps in the South Island, New Zealand. This pass through the mountains connects the Selwyn District in Canterbury to the West Coast. There are many places to stop along the way to either do a short day walk (such as Castle Hill or some of the DOC tracks) or to just take a couple of photos of some of the beautiful scenery in the area. I personally have not done any walks in the area, but really hope too as they will walk you through some gorgeous New Zealand forest or up the banks of the Waimakariri River.

I decided to do a photo journey through Arthurs Pass. Most of the photos have been taken from inside the car so please do not expect perfect photo quality. This is just to give you an idea of what it is like to travel along some of the most stunning roads in New Zealand. Arthurs Pass is a must see if you come to New Zealand, and hopefully this post will show you why.

These photos travel from the Western end of the Pass through to the Eastern end.
