So we have got on a smoothie making high over the last week or so. Our last few trips home from the gym both of us have been sitting in the car brainstorming ideas for our next smoothie. It’s fun having something in the kitchen you can experiment with, just throw random ingredients into and blitz and then just see how it turns out.
This time around our smoothie centred around strawberries and banana. Once blitzed the smoothie had this gorgeous, sweet smell from the strawberries. It came out as this soft pink colour and the smell and colour actually reminded me of this frozen strawberry dessert my mum used to make for Christmas. In terms of flavour, the strawberries dominate the smoothie, and the banana comes through as a softer, sweeter flavour that remains even after you sip.
This smoothie recipe does have a couple of raw eggs in it despite my protesting to the contrary. You can of course leave these out. Having the eggs in definitely does make this a better post-gym smoothie.
- 1 c strawberries, halved
- 1 banana, sliced
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 c rolled oats
- 2 c milk
1 Add every ingredient into your nutribullet or juicer in the order listed. Then whizz until everything is blended and combined. Pour into a glass and enjoy!
